I know they make no sense but I kind of like them especially on saloon cars.

They're purely aesthetic but I like them in some cases. We used to have one of these (in better condition) always liked it.

So did my family. It was also the only car in my family that wasn't written off. Maybe it was the wing.

Was MG ZT fwd? Unless your last pic is not a ZT. I thought those were rear wheel drive since they came with Mustang motors.

That is a MG ZS 180. The car you are thinking of is the MG 260 ZT-T.

If you're going to put a wing on a FWD car at least do it right.

Not a fan, but then again, I don't like wings or spoilers unless they're completely over the top (see: WRX STI).

True, Audi TTs were recalled to have spoilers fitted and suspension adjusted to cure dangerous handling at speed.

When is Mythbusters back as I have to know the science behind that.

Honestly, I think they're pretty stupid. To me its how companies try to make their FWD crapbox seem "sporty" without it actually being such. Case in point is the Toyota Corolla S.

Last I knew it held lap records in the FWD class. The science is because race car.

Mine definitely looks better with it. It evens out the styling, makes the car look much less nose-heavy.

I know the big wing on the Cobalt SS actually reduced it's top speed, not to mention flaps around like crazy and blocks you from seeing cops.
I've swapped mine out for the little wing, because I think they look silly without one, but wanted to get rid of the high one for being a little too 18-year-old-Fast-And-Furious-Boy.

I like the optional TL-S Aspec wings:

I think a little trunk lid lip can look nice. Everyone once in a while I'll build an appliance replacement for Mrs McMike, and some of the cars look better with it.

On my 626 the wing would prevent the lower portion of the rear window from freezing. You always had the small slit under the wing to navigate out of parking spots. Pretty sure it wasn't an intentional feature but it was nice nonetheless.
